Senior Technical Architect

OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

IGT Solutions is looking for a Technical Architect to coordinate and prioritize technical tasks and deliver within agreed timelines. Also provide technical system solutions, determine overall design direction and provide hardware recommendations for complex technical issues. Lead the project development, production support, and maintenance activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to provide technical system solutions, determine overall design direction and provide hardware recommendations for complex technical issues • Good understanding of Open source (Java / J2EE applications) as well as Oracle, Microsoft, IBM stacks and their deployment and integration across an enterprise • Knowledge of client-server networking and database management concepts. Up to date knowledge of technology including Service Oriented Architecture, Event-driven architectures and web application development concepts • Web server and application server administration and web applications deployment experience

EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• 10+ years of experience in Java/J2EE development.

• 3+ years in an architect or technical lead role.

• Strong knowledge of:

  • Java 11+/Spring/Spring Boot

  • Microservices architecture

  • RESTful APIs

  • Messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)

  • Relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

  • CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

  • Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).

QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor's or higher degree

ABILITIES

• Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies • Understanding of system security, including encryption standards, SEIM and network segregation • Willingness to be ‘hands-on’ when needed. • Ability to accurately estimate software development tasks given a set of requirements and assumptions; ability to work with Project Managers to develop task-level project plans and proposals • Ability to develop secure solutions and knowledge of industry best practices regarding information security and defensive development • Understanding of deployment architecture and infrastructure in both on-prem and cloud hosting environments • Excellent oral and written communication with an ability to articulate complex systems to external teams (sales, product, external vendors) • Self-motivation and the ability to work under minimal supervision • Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility and limitation issues
